Automotive Technology–Tennessee Technology Center, Chattanooga State

The Automotive Technology Program, on the main Chattanooga State campus, prepares students for a wide range of employment in the Automotive Service industry. The three-semester course is taught according to guidelines set by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation. Graduates of the program will receive advanced training in all aspects of the industry:
• Electrical & Electronics Systems
• Engine Performance
• Engine Repair
• Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
• Manual Drive Train and Axles
• Suspension And Steering
• Brakes
• And Heating and Air Conditioning

The ultimate goal is achieving the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence certification, widely recognized as an industry benchmark. This is done through diligent hands-on shop training along with successful completion of one of three specialized ASE exams. The process requires hard work, but gives great rewards.
