Talented Crafter Creates Transforming Mono-Bike/Robot Hybrid Model out of Cardboard – OTAQUEST

A talented Japanese craft maker named Tom has created something that looks like it was brought to life straight out of an Akira Toriyama manga. Sharing his finished product via a video on twitter this week, Tom shows off his transforming mono-bike/robot combo craft, made entirely out of cardboard! If the ability to transform between bike & robot isn’t impressive, then consider that it’s been built sturdy enough to support the weight of a full-grown adult!

Over the course of the past month, he’s been sharing the intricate building process in twitter posts, not quite step by step but enough to get an idea of how certain things came together.

Tom has built some other incredibly impressive items and shared them in the past as well, like this wearable cardboard mask & helmet complete with realistic-looking hair.

If you happen to be in Tokyo and want to check his creations out for yourself, he has them on display at his place of work at the Zushi Ginza Street Art Gallery.
